"Remote working opened my eyes to the opportunities in my industry and the freedom to be gained when you take your career into your own hands"

I followed an unusual path to where I am today. Previously the Editor-in-Chief of Sustainability Magazine and EV Magazine, I carved a path into the creative world that not even my peers could have foreseen.

Not long after joining the writing world, I got a flavour of what it’s like to work remotely. The freedom to manage my own work lured me in and made me wonder, “why can’t everyone enjoy this experience?”

In my efforts to find out more about this and, as a result, enlighten others to take this path, Remote Worker’s Journal was born.

"The ability to work remotely has given me the freedom to organise my work schedule around the rest of my life, while also giving me control over when, where and how I work."

In Summer 2023 I left a full-time teaching position in the UK to become a Private Tutor in Hong Kong. After spending three years tied to the strict regime of a secondary school, I quickly realised just how fantastic the flexibility of remote working can be.

Working-from-home allows me to plan lessons when and how suits me, as well as giving me the freedom to focus on my health, improve my fitness, and pursue other interests. I’m now a massive advocate for remote or hybrid working, and I’m excited to share my knowledge and experiences with you as part of the Remote Worker’s Journal.
